Female Names

Autocomplete female first names by prefix. Returns the most popular female names matching the query, sorted by frequency. Uses the same prefix-list architecture as first names but from a dedicated female names dataset.

API Query Parameters

Sent as query string parameters on the HTTP request to the API.

Notes

  • Female names are sourced from ONS baby names statistics (female) for England and Wales.
  • Uses a dedicated DynamoDB table and CloudFront KVS, separate from the combined first names dataset.
  • Results include only names recorded as female in the source data.
  • Source: Office for National Statistics licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
